Evaluation of Feeding Barley Genotypes in Terms of Quality Parameters Within Breeding Program

This study was conducted to determine and evaluate quality traits as selection criteria of feeding barley genotypes in pre-yield, yield and advanced yield trial under rainfed conditions at different locations in the years of 2010-2014. The assays including thousand kernel weight, test weight, protein content, cellulose and sieve analysis were done to determine some quality triats of total 2548 samples. 276 breeding materials showing high performance in yielding, disease tolerance and quality traits, were transferred to upper rank. Also year and environment factors were found affective on quality parameters. It was reached that protein content, thousand kernel weight and cellulose ratio can be used effectively in selection.
