Initial data on the spread of the brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) in Eastern Georgia (Kakheti).
2021
The brown marmorated stink bug - BMSB (Halyomorpha halys) entered Abkhazia from Sochi in 2015 and spread throughout western Georgia (Guria, Samegrelo, Imereti). In eastern Georgia, the BMSB was first noted in Dedoplis-Tskaro (village Samtatskaro) on the walnut seedlings of the Chandler variety and on the spinach plot nearby. As a result of the measures taken, the BMSB was not detected the following year. As a result of the investigations conducted by us in 2020-2021, only single specimens of the BMSB were detected in the orchards and homesteads of Telavi, Gurjaani, and Lagodekhi municipalities.
