Proceedings of the Forth International Workshop on ANCA (Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies) and the Second International Colloquium on Wegener's Granulomatosis and Vasculitic Disorders, held in Lubeck, Germany (Wegener's home town), May 1992. The work of the late Wegener (d.1990) is acknowledged in a special memorial lecture. Other lectures represent up-to-date views on different issues in clinical practice and research. Brief reports present new strategies for improving the understanding and clinical management of systemic vasculitis. The major clinical issues discussed are the classification of vasculitis and the use of alternative treatment protocols.
