Frequency distribution and the UK Living Cost and Food Survey (2012)
2015
Sloan, Luke | Angell, Rob
This work describes a frequency distribution, or 'frequency', for a categorical variable. A frequency distribution reports the number and percentage of observations that fall into each category for that variable. This example uses a subset of data from the 2010 UK Living Cost and Food Survey (LCFS). The focus of the exercise is to explore how income is distributed across households in the UK. This represents a necessary analysis for businesses looking to segment the consumer market according to household finances.
