Meat and poultry products: labeling costs of identifying fats and oils used as food ingredients
1983
Reidy, K.C.
Extract: Economic implications of changing current USDA regulations for labeling fats and oils content of meat and poultry products to a single rule are discussed. This rule would require listing on the label of the specific names of only the fats and oils actually contained in the product. Particular attention is given to the identification of groups of consumers that would be affected, and to the labeling costs associated with such a rule change.
