Meal planning guide
1986
Abstract: Food exchange lists and guidelines for planning diets that are lower in saturated fat, cholesterol, and sodium, and higher in fiber, are outlined in this meal planning guide from Bro/Menn Health Care. Food exchange lists describe foods in each food group (milk, meat, bread, fruits, vegetables, fats); serving sizes for each food; the protein, cabohydrate, and fat content of each exchange; and general suggestions for making food selections. A miscellaneous group shows the exchanges provided by some combination dishes; a free exchange list identifies foods that can be used in unlimited amounts. The guide was designed for persons who need a meal plan for continued use. Its spiral binding allows users easy access to each of the food exchange lists and the food selection guidelines. A sample format for a typical meal plan is also included.
