Abstract: A guide to managing stress at work and maintaining health is presented for the general public. The objectives of the book are to: alert a person to causes of stress and how it can negatively affect him; identify the major stress sources in an organization; provide prescriptions for stressors; and develop an action plan to maintain health (physical and mental). The first step includes recognizing that we are humans and work with humans who have different needs. Other self improvement advice offered recommends taking charge of reactions to stressful people; avoiding game playing, taking responsibility for one's own problems, and employing preventive health measures (exercise, good nutrition, relaxation). Self-appraisal questionnaires and stress reduction guides are provided to help the reader implement these suggestions. (kbc).
