A method is described for measuring instantaneous changes in soil-water pressure in soil beds during intermittent application of simulated rainfall. Differences in soil-water pressure do occur in soil beds, depending on nozzle off time. Intermittent off periods between nozzle on times affected soil-water pressure which influenced the accumulated rainfall energy required to initiate runoff.
