Effect of soil reductive sterilisation on Fusarium wilt in greenhouse carnation in Córdoba, Argentina
2008
Yossen, V. | Zumelzu, G. | Gasoni, L. | Kobayashi, K.
Soil reductive sterilisation (SRS) achieved by amendment with wheat bran followed by flooding and covering the soil surface with polyethylene tarpaulins was highly effective for controlling Fusarium wilt disease in carnation crops. Disease control may be related to a combination of high soil temperatures and anaerobic processes. Efficacy of SRS persisted for more than one season and was statistically equivalent to soil disinfestation with methyl bromide.
