Add then' testing to prove training's effectiveness
1983
Preziosi, Robert C. | Legg, Leslie M.
A method ("pre-then-post" testing) to increase accuracy in evaluating the effectiveness of a training program is described. Pre-then-post testing asks participants (at the end of a program) to think back and rate their knowledge, skill or ability prior to training. Then they rate themselves on what they learned. The participant uses the same reference frame for judging themselves, thus eliminating response-shift bias. Pre-then-post testing appears to be an economical method to evaluate training programs. One application of this method is described. (kbc)
