Anu, B C | Saha, Tamoghna
The present study was undertaken during 2018–19 at the Vegetable Research Farm, Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour for three consecutive seasons (summer, kharif and rabi) to ascertain the influence of weather factors on population fluctuations of aphid and whitefly in tomato. Correlation coefficients revealed that in all the three seasons aphid incidence revealed a negative correlation with maximum and minimum temperature, morning relative humidity, rainfall and wind velocity. In contrast, in the kharif season aphid showed significant positive correlation with minimum temperature. On the other hand, whitefly had positive correlation with maximum and minimum temperature in all the three seasons; and morning and evening relative humidity in only the kharif season. It was observed that morning relative humidity, rainfall and wind velocity exhibited negative correlation with whitefly incidence in summer and rabi seasons.
