A simple and convenient one-pot synthetic route to directly prepare a self-reductive mesoporous copper–iron–silicate (CuOₓ–Fe–silicate)-based catalyst has been developed. The resultant catalyst is highly active and stable in methanol reforming without needing a pre-reduction procedure.
