The influence of auxins on the rooting of cuttings of Bougainvillea glabra Choisy
1989
Czekalski, M.L.
Experiments were carried out in 1986-1988 in the greenhouse. Stem cuttings different in thickness were collected from old and young stock plants. The rooting process lasted 10-22 weeks, The best results were obtained using a powder containing 0.2% of NAA with an addition of Kaptan and Benomyl. In this treatment the cuttings rooted in 50-96%. Under the influence of 0.2-0.4% of IBA the cuttings rooted in 66-88%. In control treatment, without auxins, the cuttings rooted in 22.5-93% but their root system was very poorly developed. The cuttings prepared in February and March rooted in the highest percentage and in the shortest time.
