Schistosoma spp. in fasted and control hosts, glycogen and protein content and glucose uptake by male and female worms, liver size and protein and glycogen contents in hosts, circadian variations in male and female worm glycogen and protein contents and in host plasma glucose levels when hosts were entrained to regulated pattern of available food, data suggest that glycogen reserves of male are more labile than those of female at least in initial response to reductions in available nutrients, male may shield female from nutritional stress
