Effective weight maintenance techniques of healthy, normal-weight, middle-aged women
1992
Stallings, S.F. | Wolman, P.G.
With increasing age, women often find it difficult to remain within an acceptable weight range. Most studies focus on the pathology of obesity, but little is known about how normal-weight females maintain weight or about the physiologic effects of weight maintenance techniques of healthy, normal-weight, middle-aged women. The present study assessed food intake, exercise, and other life-style patterns in middle-aged women to determine the effects of dietary restriction, fitness status, and other life-style patterns on percent body fat and nutritional adequacy. A second objective was to develop a profile of effective weight maintenance techniques that might be helpful to other middle-aged women struggling to achieve a lower body weight.
