Efforts being made by Scandanavian health professionals, the business community, and government authorities to improve the people's dietary habits and nutrition are highlighted. The officials are particularly concerned about consumption levels of saturated fats, sugar, additives and chemical ingredients. Basic to the Scandanavian philosophy of consumer protection is the belief that consumers need a wide range of information in order to make rational choices in the marketplace. The Scandanavians already have some regulations that U.S. consumer leaders have long advocated.
