Citrus canker caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis Starr & Garces emend,Vauterin et al. pv. Citri (Hasse)Dye(Xac) [Syn. Xanthomonas campestris pv. citri (Hasse) Dye] is a serious disease of citrus. Streptomycin is recommended for the management of this disease, sometime along with Terramycin (Agrimycin100). Of the 31 isolates of X. axonopodis pv.citri tested for sensitivity against streptomycin, isolate Xac-2 was resistant while isolate Xac-22 was sensitive. Use of streptomycin in combination with Cu, Mg, Fe, Zn, Co and Cd increased its percentage control efficacy (PCE) from 45.46–73.73 percent on agar plates The PCE further increased when the mixture was applied to the leaves and fruits. Fe, Cu, and Zn in combination with streptomycin were most effective.
