Lessening employee stress can reduce managerial stress. Managers should look for sources of stress, such as poorly defined tasks, insufficient resources, imbalanced work load, conflicting demands, personality clashes, value conflicts, and physical environment (noise, space, air). Techniques for reducing stress are: clarifying subordinates' job responsibilities; communicating with an open mind; ranking objectives and priorities; and avoiding last minute crises projects by planning ahead.
