Lebanon is well known for its rich plant diversity. However, few works can be found in the literature related to its flora, and related to phytosociological studies. To date and to the best of our knowledge, no articles are devoted to phytosociology in this country. Therefore, we have conducted 50 samplings throughout 21 Lebanese villages to document the discussed vegetation. In this study, we present for the first time results of phytosociological investigations from central parts of Lebanon. We also describe new syntaxa: Querco infectoriae - Pinetum pineae, Pistacio palaestinae - Cytisetum lanigeri, Sarcopoterio spinosi - Cistetum salviifolii, Salici acmophyllae - Hypericetum hircini, Mentho microphyllae - Dorycnietum recti. The composition species and structure of these communities are subsequently interpreted using the synusial approach of the vegetation, where basic units are delineated by structural floral and biological homogeneity. Comparisons with similar studies from other countries are also investigated. Hence, we hope that our work can be used as a base for a national survey and intensive research concerning phytosociology and plant communities in Lebanon.
