The distribution of the stone moroko Pseudorasbora parva was studied in the basin of Upper Don River. It is suggested that the colonization of the region by this species can occur in two possible ways: coming from the fishery ponds via the Sosna River and disseminating from the lower stream of the Don River. The environmental conditions for the stone moroko in the study area are unfavorable, which is supported by extremely low fecundity, by a low ratio in the ichthyofauna, and by its absence in the adjacent tributaries. Currently, the northern margin of the expanded range of this alien species is located in the basin of the Sosna River, Lipetsk oblast, Russia.
