1978
Picciano, Mary Frances | Guthrie, Helen Andrews | Sheehe, Dennis M.
Clinical studies regarding the relationship between low cholesterol intake during infancy and a diminished ability to handle a cholesterol challenge and to regulate plasma cholesterol levels in later life are reviewed. Methods and findings are reported from a study which was conducted to determine the cholesterol content of contemporary human milk and to ascertain its variation within a day and from day to day. Lipid content was also determined. Changes in the American diet may have caused a diminution in the mean cholesterol content of human milk.
