Entropion is a common eyelid abnormality in certain dog breeds. Several methods to treat entropion in dogs are used. In 2007, Read and Broun have described a surgical technique, involving a combination of Hotz Celsus and lateral eyelid wedge resection for the correction of lateral lower lid entropion in dogs. This technique was used to treat 42 dogs with lower lid entropion at the CHV des Cordeliers. In this study, the most common canine breeds are the Rottweiler, English Bulldog and Labrador Retriever. Young dogs appear to be more frequently affected; in fact, the majority of dogs was between 6 and 12months. Postoperative complications were diagnosed for 7.1% of dogs. Results of this new surgical technique go from good to excellent. According to the owners, the success rate is high.
