The present study was done to evaluate effect of various therapeutic regimens on conception rate in repeat breeding cows (n=45) presented at veterinary clinical complex, faculty of veterinary sciences and animal husbandry, Srinagar (J&K) during the period 2016 to 2018. Cows that failed to conceive in three or more regular services and having apparently healthy genitalia with negative white side test were only included in the study. The experiment consisted of five groups (G1 to G5) of 8 animals each in G1, G2, G3, G4 and 13 animals in G5. G1 animals were given GnRH analogue (Receptalᴿ) 2.5 ml immediately after AI, G2 animals progesterone (P-DepotR) @ 500mg on 5th day after AI, G3 animals GnRH analogue (Receptalᴿ) 2.5 ml on 12th day after AI, G4 animals double insemination and G5 animals (single insemination) serve as control. In the present study, G2 animals (progesterone on 5th day after AI) and G3 animals (GnRH analogue 2.5 ml on 12th day after AI) showed the highest conception rate i.e. 75% (6/8). However, a conception rate of 62.5% (5/8) and 50% (4/4) was observed in animals given GnRH analogue immediately after AI (G1) and double insemination (G4) compared to the control group (38.46%). In conclusion, supplementation of exogenous progesterone on 5th day after AI and GnRH analogue on 12th day after A.I improves conception rate in repeat breeding cows.
