In Tamil Nadu especially in Mettupalayam markets, the analysis of 23 years of data on prices of potato revealed that prices of good quality potato was be around Rs 1133 to Rs. 1172 per 45 kg during September to December, 2014. In the near future, there are remote chances for the prices to increase, because of sustained demand. It is recommended that farmers should sell potato upon harvest without storing.
