U.S. agricultural and food policy functions increasingly in an international environment. this growing world interdependence introduces new problems as well as opportunities. in this article the authors discuss U.S. commercial agricultural trade with developed, centrally planned, and developing countries. food aid and agricultural development asistance are also considered, as is the problem of price instability of internationally traded agricultural commodities.
