Renal retention of potassium in fruit
1985
Kopyt, Nelson | Dalal, Fram | Narins, Robert G.
Analysis of selected fruits (bananas, tomatoes, oranges) for electrolyte levels and anion gaps concluded that excessive amounts of the fruit highest in potassium (bananas; 2.5-3.3 feet in fruit length) would have to be consumed to provide 60-80 mcg potassium/day to patients taking diuretics, and that KCl and potassium sparing diuretic use must continue as the mainstay for oral potassium repletion.
