Glucose and insulin responses to diet effect of variations in source and amount of carbohydrate
1978
Thompson, Robert G. | Hayford, John T. | Danney, Mark M.
A study was designed to evaluate the influence of both the type (sucrose or corn syrup) and amount (forty-five or sixty-five percent of calories) of dietary carbohydrate on glucose and insulin homeostasis. Four diets, alternated in a Latin square design, were used on eight normal males. Test procedures and results are described. Four tables are given covering diet formulations, glucose and insulin responses, F values, and glucose tolerance responses. Graphs show diurnal glucose response to variations in dietary CHO and glucose variations for each subject for all diets.
