Phymatodes murzini () (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) – New potential pest of Vitis amurensis?
2018
Kovalenko, Yakov N. | Shamaev, Andrei V.
The article provides information on the record of Phymatodes murzini in the Far East of Russia. This species was described from North Korea (Tokson). Later, beetles of genus Phymatodes, identified as Ph. murzini, were also found in South Korea (Gyeonggi-do) on wine grapes (Vitis vinifera). As a result of our studies, a new host plant of Ph. murzini, the Amur grape (Vitis amurensis), was identified. The potential damage caused by this longhorn beetle to Amur grape actively cultivated in China and other countries, is discussed. Also, the article provides a comparative description of a reliably identified female of Ph. murzini and photographs of male genitalia and ovipositor of this species, which have not been present in the scientific literature up to date.
