Double-cropping fall cabbage by no-tillage and conventional tillage systems
1989
Knavel, D.E.
Studies involving double-cropping fall cabbage by no-tillage (NT) as compared with conventional tillage (CT) were conducted in 1980, 1981, 1982, and 1984. Plant stand, number of matured heads, average head weight, and yield in NT were equal to or greater than those of CT, except in 1982 when NT yields were less than CT yields. There were cultivar differences and tillage X cultivar interactions for total head weight in 1981 and 1984, and for plant stand, number of matured heads, and average head weight in 1984. Tillage system had no effect on N content of head wrapper leaves in cultivars, but NT plants accumulated more K and Ca than CT plants.
