The chemical composition of peat organic matter of Gornyi Altai, properties and biological activity of peat humic acids (HAs) have been studied. The inclusion of HAs in the ration of marals (red deer, Cervus elaphus maral) stimulated cellular and humoral nonspecific protection factors of the animals and improved metabolism. The content of total protein in blood serum increased 8.5%, albumins 2.2%, erythrocytes 17.8%, hemoglobin 2%, and creatinine 53.5 mmol/L. The content of microelelements in blood also increased: zinc by 1.2, iron by 54.5, and calcium by 3.5 mg/kg.
