2020
Rajametov, Sh | Nurbekov, A.
In the present study, the effect of pre-harvest bagging on growth and fruit quality of pear cultivar 'Carmen' was investigated in Uzbekistan conditions. Five fruit bagging treatments with different light transmission ratios were used: 1) double layer white paper bags (WPB), 2) double layer yellow paper bags (YPB), 3) double layer black paper bags (BPB), and 4) inside yellow-outside gray paper bag (YGB), and 5) outside newspaper-inside yellow paper bags (NYPB). Non-bagged fruits were used as the control for comparison. Differences in fruit weight of 'Carmen' fruits covered with different type of paper bags revealed that all covered fruits were slightly smaller in size than the control. Results showed that pre-harvest pear bagging affected especially the quality of the skin, and removing bags nearly 2 weeks before the harvest helped red over-color formation.
