Los volúmenes de gas producidos actualmente en el Campo Casabe, perteneciente a la Superintendencia de Operaciones del Río, SOR, de la Vicepresidencia de Exploración y Producción, VPR, de Ecopetrol S.A., y el alto número y duración de las fallas de suministro eléctrico del campo, con las consecuentes pérdidas de producción, y las actuales regulaciones del Ministerio de Minas y Energía sobre la quema de gas y factores como el fenómeno del niño, ofrecen la oportunidad de desarrollar un proyecto para cubrir la demanda energética del campo con un centro de autogeneración de energía eléctrica, utilizando como combustible el gas producido. La evaluación del proyecto de ampliación permitirá determinar su pertinencia, eficiencia, y eficacia para garantizar una asignación óptima de los recursos disponibles, teniendo en cuenta el costo de los recursos y la magnitud del impacto que producen.

The volumes of gas currently produced in the Casabe Field, belonging to the Superintendency of River Operations, SOR, of the Vice-presidency of Exploration and Production, VPR, of Ecopetrol SA, and the high number and duration of electricity supply failures in the field , with the consequent production losses, and the current regulations of the Ministry of Mines and Energy on gas flaring and factors such as the El Niño phenomenon, offer the opportunity to develop a project to meet the energy demand of the field with a self-generation center of electrical energy, using the gas produced as fuel. The evaluation of the expansion project will make it possible to determine its relevance, efficiency, and effectiveness to guarantee an optimal allocation of available resources, taking into account the cost of the resources and the magnitude of the impact they produce.
