Mostrar más [+] Menos [-]Inglés. Citizen science has contributed to the development of knowledge in the environmental sciences, particularly concerning the ecological study of biodiversity. Citizen participation is voluntary and expresses the values and desires of participants to engage in the preservation of nature. Computer-aided identification applications use new information technologies and artificial intelligence for fast, efficient recognition of organisms from photographs, sounds or videos. This chapter provides a presentation and analysis of interviews and testimonials on the use of Pl@ntNet to acquire, share and mobilize botanical knowledge for conservation purposes. It discusses the strengths and limitations of the current tool, and outlines the prospects for improvement in the context of the expected growth and evolution of citizen science. The chapter presents the major challenges posed by the use of the Pl@ntNet application and possible future developments, both technical and in terms of uses and our relationship with nature.
