Plaga Village is one of the vegetable supply areas in the market of Denpasar City [Indonesia]. There are three types of vegetable that are generally cultivated by the farmers in Plaga Village, District of Petang, Badung Regency. Those are cabbage, mustard, and beans. In vegetable farming, there are several problems that are always faced by farmers, one of them is price risk which can be seen from fluctuation in vegetable market prices. Diversification is an alternative that can be done by combining the three types of vegetable (cabbage, mustard and beans). These combinations will form a portfolio that is expected to reduce the risk of vegetable farming. The purpose of these study is to analyze the income and risk in vegetable farming in a specialized and diversification as well as farmers decision making on portfolio at various level of risk preferences. This research was done by using the calculation of expected return, standard deviation and coefficient variation of portfolio income and risk. To analyze decision making at various level of risk preference by description analysis. The results shows that diversification can reduce the risk of specialized farming. Furthermore, changes in farmer's risk preferences will change farmers' decision making in portfolio selection.
