Nature-Inclusive Design: a catalogue for offshore wind infrastructure : Technical report

Inglés. Offshore wind farms in the Dutch North Sea must make demonstrable efforts to stimulate native nature within the wind farm. For example, suitable scour protection or fish hotels can be placed around wind turbines that serve as nursery areas or offer shelter. Also flat oysters can be placed, which can form reefs and attract great biodiversity. Commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Witteveen+Bos and Wageningen Marine Research have produced a catalog of such Nature Inclusive Design options. The catalog shows the target species for which the option is suitable, the expected construction costs, and where the materials can be purchased.

Zo kan rondom windturbines aangepaste steenstort of vishotels worden geplaatst met opgroei- en schuilmogelijkheden voor kabeljauw. Ook kunnen platte oesters worden geplaatst die riffen kunnen vormen en een grote biodiversiteit kunnen aantrekken. In opdracht van het ministerie van LNV hebben Witteveen+Bos en Wageningen Marine Research een catalogus gemaakt van dergelijke Nature Inclusive Design opties. De catalogus laat zien voor welke doelsoorten de optie geschikt is, wat de verwachte constructiekosten zijn, en waar de materialen gekocht kunnen worden.
