A Partial Least Square (PLS) model was developed to predict the hydrogen potential of different solid wastes faster (i.e., in less than 1 day) than the fermentation test (which lasts about 7days depending on the kind of substrates). Our results show the feasibility of this method : Standard Error of Cross Validation (SECV) of 16 ml H2.g-1 VS (R² : 0.93) and Root Mean Square Error of Prediction (RMSEP) of 32 ml H2.g-1 VS (R² = 0.76). This new method can be used in order to determine faster the hydrogen potential of solid waste and thus improve the management of anaerobic digestion.
