Parasitic infection of the shrimp, Palaemon elegans from the Karantinnaya Bay and the Omega Bay (Sevastopol, the Black Sea) differed with the pollution level was studied. Comparative analysis encomprassed three most typical and common parasites - the infusorian, Terebrospira lenticacularis, the ray fungus, Actinomyces sp. and the trematode, Helicometra fasciata mtc. Infection prevalence and intensity of shrimps estimated for the three parasites correspondingly were 2, 3 and 6 times higher in the Karantinnaya Bay into which domestic sewage is discharged.

Представлены данные о зараженности в 1995-1998 гг. креветок Palaemon elegans, обитающих в двух, разных по степени загрязнения прибрежных районах Черного моря, тремя видами паразитов: лучистыми грибками рода Actinomyces, инфузориями Terebrospira lenticularis и метацеркариями трематоды Helicometra fasciata.
