Efecto de la altura y edad de corte en la producción de materia seca y proteína bruta de Cratylia argentea (Desvaux) O. Kuntze bajo condiciones del piedemonte barinés, Venezuela | Effect of the height and age-cut in the production of dry matter and gross protein of Cratylia argentea (Desvaux) O. Kuntze under the piedemonte barinés conditions, in Venezuela

Con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de dos alturas y tres edades de corte de Cratylia argentea (Desvaux.) O. Kuntze en la producción de biomasa y proteína bruta, se realizó un ensayo en la finca Mata de Junco, municipio Pedraza, estado Barinas. Se utilizó un diseño completamente aleatorizado con un arreglo factorial 2 x 3. Evaluandose las variables: materia seca (MS g planta-1), número de rebrotes (NR), longitud del rebrote (LR), número de hojas por rebrote (NHR) y proteína bruta (PB). Encontrándose efecto significativo (P<0,05) para el factor altura de corte (AC), sólo en la variable NHR, y en el factor edad de corte (EC) hubo diferencias (P<0,05) en todas las variables evaluadas. La interacción AC x EC no mostró diferencias (P<0,05). La producción de MS, LR y NHR, incrementaron con la edad de la planta. Hasta la edad de 90 d observándose rendimientos promedios de MS de 29,46; 85,75 y 107,25 g planta-1, respectivamente. El contenido de PB fue mayor a los 30 d con promedio de 21,90%. Se puede concluir que a los 90 d de edad, la planta mostró la mayor producción de biomasa (107,25 g planta-1) y un buen contenido de proteína (19,48 %), lo cual puede considerarse aceptable para esta leguminosa

In order to evaluate the effect of cutting height and three age cut of Cratylia argentea (Desvaux.) O. Kuntze on the biomass and crude protein production a test was carried out on the farm “Mata de Junco”, in the municipality of Pedraza, Barinas state. A completely randomized design was used with a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement. The variables evaluated: dry matter production (g plant-1), number of leaves for regrowth (NHR), length of regrowth (LR), number of leaves and regrowth (NHR) of crude protein (PC). We found a significant factor in the cutting height, only in the variable number of regrowth, and the age cutoff was different (P <0,05) in all variables. The interaction AC x CE showed no differences (P <0,05). The production of dry matter, length of regrowth and number of leaves by regrowth increased with the age of the plant. After 90 days the dry matter average gain was 107,25; 48,17 and 10,42 respectively. The content of crude protein reached its highest value after 30 days with an average of 21,50%. One can conclude that after 90 days, the plant showed the highest increased production of biomass and a high protein content which is acceptable for this leguminous plant
