In dem Zeitraum 14.7. bis 30.10.1994 wurden die Mägen von 1.953 Schlacht- schweinen aus 45 Herkunftsbetrieben an 65 Schlachttagen unter-sucht. In der vorliegenden Untersuchung lagen individuelle Werte für die patho-lo- gisch-anatomischen Organbefunde und die Fleischqualitäts-parameter der Ma- genbefundeten Schweine vor, die Bestandsdaten lagen nur grup-penweise vor und sind deshalb vorsichtiger zu interpretieren. Bei Betrachtung der Befunde am Magen konnten drei deutlich unter-scheid-bare Gruppen gebildet werden: A: Schweine mit gesunder oder geringgradig veränderter Pars nonglandu-laris (Grad 0 und 1), blasser Drüsenschleimhaut und einer großen Menge breiigem Mageninhalt B: Schweine mit hochgradig hyper- und parakeratotisch veränderter Pars non- glandularis (Grad 2), dunkelroter Drüsenschleimhaut und einer gerin-gen Menge flüssigem Mageninhalt C: Schweine mit hochgradig hyper- und parakeratotisch veränderter Pars non- glandularis mit Läsionen oder Ulcera (Grad 3 und 4), meist rötlich-dun- kelroter Drüsenschleimhaut und einer mittleren Menge flüssig-brei-igem oder flüssigen Mageninhalt Es ist also auch bei dieser Untersuchung ein deutlicher Einfluß des Ma-genin- haltes bzw. des Futters auf die Veränderungen an der Pars nonglan-dularis zu beobachten. Nach Ergebnissen von anderen Untersuchungen führt ein Futter mit kleiner Partikelgröße und niedrigem Rohfaseranteil zu einer Verflüssi-gung des Mageninhaltes und so zu Veränderungen der Pars nonglandularis. In der Gruppe C ist der Futtereinfluß aus dem Mageninhalt zur Zeit der Schlachtung nicht mehr so deutlich ersichtlich, aber durch die hohen täg-li- chen Zunahmen in dieser Gruppe läßt sich auf eine Fütterung einer Fut-termi- schung mit hohem Energie- und Proteingehalt bei niedrigem Rohfa-seranteil schließen. Obgleich die Beurteilung der Bestandsdaten vorsichtig vorgenommen werden muß, war ein positiver Einfluß von Einstreu und ein negativer Einfluß von Haltung auf Vollspaltenböden festzustellen. Die durch-schnittlichen täglichen Zunahmen waren bei Tieren mit Hyper- und Para-keratose der Pars nonglan-dularis am niedrigsten (<650g), bei Tieren mit Ulcera der Pars nonglandularis am höchsten (>740g). Veränderungen an der Leber im Sinne von Ascaris suum-Narben kamen in Zu- sammenhang mit einer Hyper- und Parakeratose der Pars nonglan-dularis vor, entzündliche Lungenveränderungen waren bei Tieren mit Ul-ceration der Pars nonglandularis am häufigsten. Die untersuchten Schweine wurden nach Magerfleischanteil in Bela-stungs- empfindlichkeits-Verdachtsklassen eingeteilt. Belastungsemp-find-lich-keit war mit hochgradiger Hyper- und Parakeratose der Pars non-glandularis ver-bunden, belastungsunempfindlich waren vornehmlich die Schweine mit einer unverän- derten Pars nonglandularis. Die Befunde an der Pars nonglandularis hatten einen von dem Mager-fleischanteil unab-hängigen Einfluß auf die pH-Werte im Schinken der Schlachtkörper. Tiere mit Hyper- und Parakeratose der Pars non- glandu-laris hatten die niedrig-sten mittleren pH-Werte und eine erhöhte PSE- In-zidenz, Tiere mit Ul-ceration der Pars nonglandularis hatten die höchsten mittle-ren pH-Werte. Der Mageninhaltsgewicht hatte bei dieser Untersuchung keinen Einfluß auf die PSE-Inzidenz.

Between 14.7-30.10.1994 the stomachs of 1.953 pigs from 45 farms were ex- amined in an abattoir survey conducted on 65 days of slaughter. The data for the pathological changes of liver and lungs as well as for the meat quality parameters was obtained for each individual pig, and could be directly related to the findings at the pars nonglandularis. For housing and daily live-weight gain data was only available for groups of pigs, as they were delivered from each farm, and are therefore to be interpreted with greater caution. It was possible to distinguish three groups from the results of the exami-na- tion of the stomachs: A: Pigs with a normal or slightly hyper- and parakeratotic pars nonglan-dula- ris (grade 0 and 1), a pale pink mucous lining of the stomach and a large amount of a solid, porridge-like contents B: Pigs with a severely hyper- and parakeratotic pars nonglandularis (grade 2), a dark red mucous lining of the stomach and a small amount of liquid contents C: Pigs with a severely hyper- and parakeratotic pars nonglandularis with le- sions and ulceration (grade 3 and 4), mostly a red to dark red mucous lining of the stomach and a medium amount of liquid or semiliquid con-tents The influence of the stomach contents and therefore the feeding on the de-vel- opment of pathological changes in the pars nonglandularis are ob-vious from these results. As established in previous studies it is the fee-ding of a diet with a small particle size and a low fibre content which will leed to liquid stomach contents and ultimately ulceration. This effect is not quite as obvious in group C, but considering the high mean daily live weight gain in this group it is acceptable to assume that a feed with a high energy and protein content and concurrent low fibre content has been fed. Bearing in mind that careful interpretation is necessary for the data ob- tained from groups rather than from individuals, there is never the less a noticable po-sitive influence of straw used as bedding and a negative influ- ence of com-ple-tely slatted floors on the occurence of pathological chan-ges of the pars non-glandularis. The mean daily live weight gain was lowest in the group of animals with a se- verely hyper- and parakeratotic pars nonglandularis (<650g) and highest in the animals with ulceration of the pars nonglandularis (>740g). A correlation was established between the presence of Ascaris suum-scars on the liver and hyper- and parakeratotic changes of the pars nonglandularis as well as a correlation between pneumonia and ulceration of the pars nonglandu- la-ris. The pigs were divided into three groups of lean meat contents to reflect their stress susceptibility (<55,5%, 55,5-59,4% and ?59,5%). Animals with hyper- and parakeratosis of the pars nonglandularis were predomi-nantly represented in the group of high stress susceptibility, animals with a healthy pars non- glandula-ris were predominantly represented in the group of low stress susceptibility. The pathology of the pars nonglandularis had an effect on the pH measu-red in the musculus semimembranosus that was independant of the lean meat content. Animals with hyper- and parakeratosis of the pars nonglan-dularis were meas- ured to have the lowest pH values and a higher incidence of PSE, where as animals with ulceration of the pars nonglandularis had the highest pH values. The weight of the stomach contents did not influ-ence the inci-dence of PSE in the present study.
