B?squeda de cultivos alternativos en el Valle del Alag?n (C?ceres, Espa?a) | Search for alternative crops in the Alag?n valley region (C?ceres, Spain)

In the present work we report the search for profitable alternative crops that will be competitive on the market from the zone of Torrejoncillo (province of C?ceres, W. Spain), because traditional agricultural practices are starting to die out. Owing to the increasing demand on the domestic and international markets, we have decided that medicinal plants would offer a good alternative. The following taxa were selected for study: Calendula officinalis L. (Pot marigold), Hypericum perforatum L. (St. John?s wort), Taraxacum officinale Weber (Dandylion) and Trifolium pratense L. (Red clover), because these plants are able to adapt to the environmental and pedological conditions of the area and are in great demand on the Spanish market. We report the quantitative yield of the crops per hectare and the content in active principles of the plants and their profitability. The work is completed with a monographic study of each of the species selected.

En el presente trabajo se plantea la b?squeda de cultivos alternativos rentables, que sean competitivos en los mercados, para la zona de Torrejoncillo (C?ceres), al encontrarse en decadencia los cultivos tradicionales. Se ha optando por el cultivo de plantas medicinales, debido a la demanda creciente de las mismas en los mercados nacional e internacional en las ?ltimas d?cadas. Se han elegido para este estudio los siguientes t?xones: Calendula officinalis L. (cal?ndula), Hypericum perforatum L. (hip?rico), Taraxacum officinale Weber (diente de le?n) y Trifolium pratense L. (tr?bol rojo), por ser plantas que se adaptan a las condiciones ambientales y edafol?gicas de la zona y muy demandadas en el mercado espa?ol. Se valora el rendimiento cuantitativo de los cultivos por hect?rea y el contenido en principios activos de las plantas y su rentabilidad. Se completa el trabajo con el estudio monogr?fico de cada una de las especies citadas.
