VIII. SUMMARY The present experimental work was carried out on the grounds of the Hda "Elvira" belonging to Mr. Segundo Murillo Bermeo, located in the Pimocha parish, Babahoyo canton. The geographic coordinates are 790 60 'longitude west and 010 83' south latitude and a height of 8 msnm. The soil is free, drainage and regular topography. The INIAP-H-602 hybrid was used as seed material. Six treatments with different doses of pendimethalin + atrazine (4 L + 3.0 kg) were studied; (3.5 L + 2.5 kg); (3.0 + 2.0 kg); (2.5 L + 1.5 kg); (2.0 L + 1.0 kg) plus a mechanical control with three manual weeding and three sub - treatments with high, medium and low doses (160 kg / ha of N - 40 kg / ha of P - 80 kg / ha of K ), (120 kg / ha of N - 20 kg / ha of P - 60 kg / ha of K) and (90 kg / ha of N - 0 kg / ha of P - 30 kg / ha of K). The experimental design of split plots was studied, with six treatments, three sub - treatments and three replications. The comparison of the means was done with the Tukey test at 95% probability. During the development of the experiment were carried out the field preparation work, Planting, Weed control, Irrigation, Fertilization, Control of pests and diseases and Harvest. To estimate the effect of the treatments and sub-treatments, herbicide selectivity data were taken by visual observations to the crop in each plot at 7 and 14 days after application, weed control at 14 and 21 days after application Of herbicides, plant height, ear length and diameter, number of grains per ear, weight of 1000 grains, yield and economic analysis. From the results obtained it was determined that the preemergent mixture between pendimethalin + atrazine did obtain good results for the control of weeds in maize in the zone of Babahoyo; The application of Pendimetalin + Atrazine in doses of 4 L + 3.0 kg and 2.5 L + 1.5 kg in high doses of high and medium soil fertilization 160 kg / ha of N - 40 kg / ha of P - 80 Kg / ha of K; 120 kg / ha of N - 20 kg / ha of P - 60 kg / ha of K, showed higher toxicity in maize cultivation; The best weed control was presented with the application of Pendimetalin + Atrazine in doses of 4 L + 3.0 kg interacted with 160 kg / ha of N - 40 kg / ha of P - 80 kg / ha of K; The variables plant height, length and diameter of ear responded favorably to the use of Pendimetalin + Atrazine in doses of 4 L + 3.0 kg using high dose of soil fertilization with 160 kg / ha of N - 40 kg / ha of P - 80 kg / ha of K; The highest number of grains per ear was reached by plots using a high dose of soil fertilization, with the mixture of Pendimetalin + Atrazine in doses of 4 L + 3.0 kg; The weight of 1000 grains and yield reached higher averages with the application of Pendimetalin + Atrazine in doses of 4 L + 3.0 kg, using 160 kg / ha of N - 40 kg / ha of P - 80 kg / ha of K and The application of Pendimetalin + Atrazine (3.0 L + 2.0 kg) with the use of 90 kg / ha of N - 0 kg / ha of P - 30 kg / ha of K achieved the highest net benefit with $ 205,95

VII. RESUMEN El presente trabajo experimental se desarrolló en los terrenos de la Hda “Elvira” de propiedad del Sr. Segundo Murillo Bermeo, ubicados en la parroquia Pimocha, cantón Babahoyo. Las coordenadas geográficas son 790 60´ de longitud oeste y 010 83´ latitud sur y una altura de 8 msnm. El suelo es franco, drenaje y topografía regular. Como material de siembra se utilizó el híbrido INIAP-H-602. Se estudiaron seis tratamientos con diferentes dosis de pendimetalin + atrazina (4 L + 3,0 kg); (3,5 L + 2,5 kg); (3,0 + 2,0 kg); (2,5 L + 1,5 kg); (2,0 L + 1,0 kg) más un testigo mecánico con tres deshierbas manuales y tres subtratamientos con dosis alta, media y baja (160 kg/ha de N - 40 kg/ha de P – 80 kg/ha de K), (120 kg/ha de N – 20 kg/ha de P – 60 kg/ha de K) y (90 kg/ha de N – 0 kg/ha de P – 30 kg/ha de K). Se estudió el diseño experimental de parcelas divididas, con seis tratamientos, tres subtratamientos y tres repeticiones. La comparación de los promedios se efectúo con la prueba de Tukey al 95 % de probabilidad. Durante el desarrollo del experimento se efectuaron las labores de preparación del terreno, Siembra, Control de malezas, Riego, Fertilización, Control de plagas y enfermedades y Cosecha. Para estimar el efecto de los tratamientos y subtratamientos, se tomaron los datos de selectividades del herbicida mediante observaciones visuales al cultivo en cada parcela a los 7 y 14 días después de la aplicación, control de malezas a los 14 y 21 días después de la aplicación de los herbicidas, altura de planta, longitud y diámetro de mazorca, número de granos por mazorca, peso de 1000 granos, rendimiento y análisis económico. Por los resultados obtenidos se determinó que la mezcla preemergente entre pendimetalin + atrazina si obtuvo buenos resultados para el control de malezas en maíz en la zona de Babahoyo; la aplicación de Pendimetalin + Atrazina en dosis de 4 L + 3,0 kg y 2,5 L + 1,5 kg en dosis alta de fertilización edáfica alta y media 160 kg/ha de N - 40 kg/ha de P – 80 kg/ha de K; 120 kg/ha de N – 20 kg/ha de P – 60 kg/ha de K, mostraron mayor toxicidad en el cultivo de maíz; el mejor control de malezas se presentó con la aplicación de Pendimetalin + Atrazina en dosis de 4 L + 3,0 kg interaccionado con 160 kg/ha de N - 40 kg/ha de P – 80 kg/ha de K; las variables altura de planta, longitud y diámetro de mazorca respondieron favorablemente al empleo de Pendimetalin + Atrazina en dosis de 4 L + 3,0 kg utilizando dosis alta de fertilización edáfica con 160 kg/ha de N - 40 kg/ha de P – 80 kg/ha de K; el mayor número de granos por mazorca lo alcanzaron las parcelas que se utilizó dosis alta de fertilización edáfica, con la mezcla de Pendimetalin + Atrazina en dosis de 4 L + 3,0 kg; el peso de 1000 granos y rendimiento alcanzó mayores promedios con la aplicación de Pendimetalin + Atrazina en dosis de 4 L + 3,0 kg, utilizando 160 kg/ha de N - 40 kg/ha de P – 80 kg/ha de K y la aplicación de Pendimetalin + Atrazina (3,0 L + 2,0 kg) con el empleo de 90 kg/ha de N – 0 kg/ha de P – 30 kg/ha de K alcanzó mayor beneficio neto con $ 205,95
