The thesis proposes an analysis of the main features of the liability clauses in a PETROBRAS time charter for support vessel and in a PETROBRAS charter for a drillship in the context of Brazilian law, namely the Petroleum Law and the Brazilian Civil Code. Further on, it compares theses clauses with the ones in Supplytime 2005, issued by BIMCO, focusing on the general liability rule, pollution, consequential damages and force majeure.
