This work aims to quantify the residual biomass from stands of stone pine particularly in two management units of National Forest of Escaroupim (NFE) and National Forest of Valverde (NFV), resulting from thinnings and debranching. In the NFE, the amount of dry biomass was, in management unit 4, 847,0 Mg and 739,4 Mg in management unit 8. The contribution of components – leaves, branches, bark and wood – was, in management unit 4, 7,9%, 48,1%, 5,9% and 20,1% and, in plot 8, 10,3%, 47%, 4,7% and 17,1% respectively. In management unit 21, of NFV, with 31 years, the amount of dry biomass obtained was 1312,8 Mg, being that 6,2% of leaves, 52,3% of branches and bark, and 41,4% of wood . In management unit 27, with 25 years, the amount of dry biomass was 986,9 Mg and the contribution of components was 10% of leaves, 51,6% of branches and bark and 38,3% of wood.
