La carencia de información biológica y ecológica de la ictiofauna nacional es uno de los principales vacíos de conocimiento acerca de estos organismos. Esta falta es más notoria en sistemas hídricos aislados del Altiplano sur de Chile, donde el detrimento a causa del balance hidrológico negativo y la demanda de agua por actividad minera han acelerado procesos de eutrofización y salinización. Es por este motivo que se genera la necesidad de obtener información detallada de su ictiofauna. En este trabajo, se estudió los aspectos tróficos de O. agassii procedentes de una vertiente del conjunto de arroyos del Salar de Huasco. Se analizó la trofía de 51 individuos en dos períodos climáticos a través del cálculo del índice de importancia numérica (IIN), el índice de selectividad de Manly estandarizado por Chesson y la estimación de amplitud de nicho trófico. Los análisis de contenidos arrojaron diferencias entre la abundancia de presas consumidas por periodo, siendo los grupos más representativos Cladócera y Ostrácoda, con 52,1% y 45,4%, respectivamente. La presa más importante (IIN) para primavera, en el caso de machos y hembras fue Ostrácoda. Durante otoño, la presa más importante para los machos correspondió al cladócero Alonella y para hembras fue Ostrácoda. De acuerdo a los análisis de selectividad, O. agassii presentaría una marcada preferencia por larvas de la familia Ephydridae, ostrácodos y el cladócero del género Alonella, y exhibiría un comportamiento trófico tendiente a la estenofagia, lo que coincidiría con la marcada selectividad por un bajo número de taxa en relación a la oferta ambiental.<br>The absence of biological and ecological information on native fishes at the isolated hydrological systems of the Chilean southern Altiplano is one of the main concerns for current research in this field. This fact is even more evident when considering the environmental deterioration of this region due to negative water balance and the demand of water by mining which have accelerated eutrophication processes and increased salinity. Therefore, it is important to obtain detailed information about the fish fauna in the Altiplano area. Based on this, the trophic aspects O. agassii were studied during two climatic periods (autumn and spring) at the stream system of the Huasco salt pan. Using the numerical importance index (IIN), the Manly and Chesson selectivity index and the estimation of the niche amplitude, the feeding habits of 51 specimens were analyzed. The stomach content analysis showed differences between prey items consumed for each period. The most representative groups for each sampling corresponded to Class Cladocera and Ostracoda, with 52.1% and 45.4% respectively. For both males and females, the most important prey (IIN) for spring was Ostracoda. During autumn, the highest value item for IIN for males was Cladocera Alonella and, for females the item Ostracoda. According to the selectivity analysis, O. agassii presents a marked preference for larvae of the Family Ephydridae, ostracods and the Cladocera Alonella and it also exhibits stenophagic feeding that would coincide with the marked selectivity for a low number of taxa compared to the environmental offer.
