Matéria orgânica de Argilossolo Vermelho e Latossolo Bruno sob diferentes sistemas de manejo e sob vegetação nativa : distribuição em frações físicas, qualidade e sorção do herbicida atrazina | Organic matter of an acrisol and of a ferrasol under different management systems and native vegetation : distribution in physical fractions, quallity and sorption of the herbicide a trazine

Os sistemas de manejo do solo afetam o teor de matéria orgânica do solo (MOS) e sua composição química, os quais influenciam a dinâmica de herbicidas no ambiente. Os atuais sistemas agrícolas dependem largamente da utilização de herbicidas para viabilizar uma produção agrícola competitiva, e, portanto, estudos que contemplem o comportamento sortivo de herbicidas no solo como função do sistema manejo, tornam-se relevantes. Este trabalho objetivou avaliar o efeito do manejo do solo no teor e qualidade da MOS e a sorção do herbicida atrazina (ATZ) em amostras de solo inteiro e em compartimentos físicos de um Argissolo Vermelho (PV) e Latossolo Bruno (LB) sob diferentes sistemas de manejo e sob vegetação nativa. Amostras de solo (0-2,5 cm) sob plantio direto (PD) e sob preparo convencional (PC) foram coletadas em dois experimentos: um deles é localizado no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (solo PV) sob duas rotações de cultura (aveia+vica/milho+caupi, A+V/M+C; aveia/milho) (Estação Experimental Agronômica da UFRGS – 16 anos) e o outro se localiza no Estado do Paraná (solo LB) (com e sem correção da acidez) (Campo Experimental da Fundação Agrária de Pesquisa Agropecuária – 21 anos). A composição química da MOS foi determinada por análise elementar e espectroscopia de Ressonância Magnética Nuclear do 13C. Isotermas de sorção de ATZ foram realizadas nos tratamentos campo nativo, PD A+V/M+C e PC A+V/M+C no solo PV; e mata nativa, PD com correção e PC com correção no solo LB. As respectivas frações organo-minerais < 63μm também foram empregadas como sorventes. A composição química da MOS do PV foi pouco afetada pela mudança de uso do solo, e nesta houve predomínio de grupo O-alquil ( 50%). No LB a MOS sob mata nativa apresentou composição química diferente das amostras sob uso agrícola, porém em todos os tratamentos houve predomínio de grupo O-alquil. A MOS do PC no LB apresentou maior recalcitrância química e caráter mais hidrofóbico do que a MOS do PD. Entre as frações organo-minerais a composição química da MOS da fração silte fino foi a mais sensível à alteração de vegetação e manejo do solo, em ambos os solos. A MOS desta fração mostrou caráter mais hidrofóbico e menor proporção de grupos O-alquil nas amostras dos tratamentos agrícolas, do que nas amostras sob vegetação nativa nos dois solos. Entre os sistemas de manejo o maior caráter polar e maior proporção de grupos O-alquil em todas as frações foram verificadas nas amostras sob PD. A sorção de ATZ foi mais intensa no LB do que no PV, devido à sua textura mais argilosa, maior teor de carbono orgânico e maior área superficial específica. Nas duas classes de solo, as amostras sob PC apresentam maior capacidade sortiva de carbono orgânico, o que pode estar relacionado ao caráter mais hidrofóbico da MOS. A fração argila é a fração que possui maior capacidade sortiva de ATZ, enquanto a fração silte fino apresenta a menor. A capacidade sortiva e a reatividade do carbono orgânico com a ATZ no solo inteiro e nas frações organo-minerais diminuem com o uso agrícola nas duas classes de solo. Entre as frações, essa diminuição foi mais acentuada na fração silte grosso.

Soil management systems affect the content and chemical composition of the soil organic matter (SOM), which influence the herbicide dynamics in the environment. The actual agricultural systems depend largely on the use of herbicides in order to yield a competitive agricultural production. Therefore, studies that investigate the sorptive behavior of herbicides in soil as function of the management system become relevant. This work aimed to evaluate the effect of soil management systems on the content and quality of SOM and on the sorption of herbicide atrazine (ATZ) onto whole soil and onto physical compartments of an Acrisol (PV) and of a Ferrasol (LB) under different management systems and native vegetation. Soil samples (0-2.5 cm) under no-tillage (NT) and conventional tillage (CT) were collected in two experiments located in the States of Rio Grande do Sul under two cropping systems (oat+vetch /maize+ cowpea, A+V/M+C; oat/maize) (Agronomical Experimental Station of UFRGS – 16 years) and of Paraná (limed and no limed) (Experimental Field of the Agrarian Foundation for Agronomic Research – 21 years). The chemical composition of the SOM was determined by elemental analyses and 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy. Sorption isotherms of ATZ were performed with the treatments: native grassland, NT A+V/M+C and CT A+V/M+V of the soil PV, and native forest, NT and CT with correction of the soil LB. The respective < 63μm organo-minerals fractions were also employed as sorbents. The SOM chemical composition of the PV soil was little affected by the change of soil use, and the O-alkyl groups predominated ( 50%). The SOM of the LB soil under native forest presented a different chemical composition from the CT and NT. Nevertheless, in all treatments, the O-alkyl groups predominated. The SOM of the CT in LB soil showed a higher chemical recalcitrance and higher hydrophobic character in comparison to that of the NT. Regarding the organo-mineral fractions, the chemical composition of the fine silt SOM was the most sensitive to the change of soil use and management system, in both soils. The SOM of this fraction presented a higher hydrophobic character and lower proportion of O-alkyl groups in the agricultural samples, than in the native vegetation samples in both soils. Regarding the management system, the highest polarity and the highest proportion of O-alkyl groups were verified in the NT samples. The ATZ sorption was higher in the LB soil than in the PV soil, and this was attributed to its clayey texture, higher carbon content and higher specific surface area. In the two soils, the organic matter of CT samples showed a higher sorptive capacity, what might be related to its higher SOM hydrophobicity. The clay fraction showed the highest ATZ sorptive capacity, while the fine silt fraction showed the least one. Both the sorptive capacity and the organic carbon affinity for the ATZ decreased with the agricultural use in the whole soils and organo-mineral fractions as well. Among the fractions, the decrease was more pronounced in the coarse silt fraction.
