Iegrimušo augu daudzveidība un sastopamības izmaiņas Engures ezerā no 2018. līdz 2023.gadam. | Diversity and occurrence changes of submerged plants in lake Engure from 2018 to 2023.

Engures ezers ir sekls makrofītu tipa ezers, kam raksturīgas iegrimušo augu sabiedrības, kuras veido mieturaļģes Charophyta. Pieaugot jūras kraukļu Phalacrocorax carbo kolonijai tika novērotas izmaiņas iegrimušo augu sastāvā un mieturaļģu izzušana ap koloniju. Arī dažādu citu ūdensputnu skaita palielināšanās negatīvi ietekmēja iegrimušo augu segumu. Pastāv uzskats, ka paugurknābja gulbju Cygnus olor skaita pieaugums ezerā atstāj negatīvu ietekmi uz mieturaļģēm. Maģistra darba mērķis bija noteikt un izvērtēt iegrimušo augu sastopamības izmaiņas Engures ezerā. Pētījuma laikā tika noteikts iegrimušo augu projektīvais segums. Pētījumā noskaidrots, ka laikapstākļi ietekmē iegrimušo augu sastopamību un pēc prognozētajām klimata izmaiņām nākotnē, iespējama ūdensputnu skaita palielināšanās. Secināts, ka 2021. gadā mieturaļģu segums samazinājās par 20%, kas liecina par to, ka laikapstākļi un gulbju skaita pieaugums ietekmēja mieturaļģu projektīvā seguma izmaiņas.

Lake Engure is a shallow macrophyte type lake that is characterized by submerged plant communities composed of Charophyta. As the colony of great cormorant Phalacrocorax carbo grew, changes in the composition of submerged plants and the disappearance of charophytes around the colony were observed. The increase in the number of different waterfowl also had negative impact on the cover of submerged plants. There is a perception that the rise in the number of mute swans Cygnus olor in the lake is having a negative impact on the charophytes. The aim of the Master’s thesis was to identify and evaluate changes in the occurrence of submerged plants in Lake Engure. During the study, the projective cover of submerged plants was determined. The study found that weather conditions affect the occurrence of submerged plants and according to the predicted climate changes in the future an increase in the number of waterfowl is possible. It was concluded that in 2021 the charophytes projective coverage decreased by 20%, which indicates that the weather and the increase in swans affected the changes in charophytes coverage.
