Reducción de la floración en ciruelo europeo (Prunus domestica L.) con ácido giberélico como alternativa para mejorar el tamaño del fruto | Reduction of flowering in European plum (Prunus domestica L.) with gibberellic acid as an alternative to improve fruit size

Mendoza es la principal provincia productora de ciruelo europeo cv. “d’Agen”. En esta variedad no se realiza la práctica del raleo de frutos. El objetivo de esta tesis fue determinar el efecto del ácido giberélico sobre la reducción de la inducción floral y la mejora del tamaño del fruto. Se aplico una dosis de 100 mg.L-1 de AG3 en diferentes estadios fenológicos. Durante la segunda temporada se ajustó la dosis a utilizar (0, 25, 50, 75 y 100 mg L-1 de AG3) en un único estadio fenológico determinado el primer año, siendo el más efectivo y que se lo puede considerar el momento de inducción floral del cv. “d’Agen”. Se observó una reducción del 91,7% de la densidad de floración siguiente, mejoró el calibre de los frutos, mientras que en los otros estadios no hubo efecto. En la segunda temporada todas las dosis mostraron diferencias en la reducción de la floración siguiente con respecto al control. Las dosis de 75 y 100 mg L-1 de AG3 bajaron la densidad floral y el porcentaje de cuajado de los frutos, por lo que no son recomendables. En cambio, las dosis 25 y 50 mg L-1 de AG3, no afectaron el porcentaje de cuajado de frutos y redujeron la densidad floral entre un 60 a 70% respectivamente. La dosis a aplicar de giberelina no pudo ser ajustada dada las condiciones climáticas del segundo año, que redujeron la carga final de frutos por planta, pero debería ser menor a 25 mg L-1 de AG3.

Mendoza is the main producing province of European plum cv “d´Agen”. Fruit thinning is not an usual cultural practice for this variety.The aim of this thesis was to determine the effect of gibberellic acid (GA3) on the reduction of flower density and its effect in fruit size. During the first growing season 100 mg L-1 of GA3 treatment was applied on the following phonological phases. According to the first growing season results in relation to time of AG3 application, during second seson different concentration of GA3 ( 0; 25; 50; 75 and 100 mg L-1 ) were applied at phonological was the most effective treatment. This phenological stage can be considered as the bloom induction time of the cv “D´agen”; flower density was reduce 91.7%. Fruit size was improved although with a considerably decrease in the total number of fruit per plant and fruit yield. The other treatments did not show significant effects on response variables. In the second growing season all the treatments showed a reduction in flower density at the next spring with respect to control treatment. The 75 and 100 mg L-1 of GA3 treatments additionally decreased the percentage of fruit set, and then they are not suitable for recommendation. The 25 and 50 mg L-1 of GA3 treatments reduced flower density by 60% and 70%, respectively. The most appropriate gibberellin dose could not be determined due to climate conditions during the second season; however, it should be lower than 25 mg L-1.
