Control efficacy of seed disinfectant and hot water treatment against loose smut, net blotch and stripe on barley
2018
Yamaguchi, J.
Loose smut of barley is an internally seed-borne disease where the pathogen is localized within the embryo of the seed. There is a clear relationship between percentage of seed infection using an embryo test and the incidence of loose smut of barley. But the rate of disease panicle is very low more than the percentage of seed infection. Seed Disinfectant of Trifumizole was effective for control against barley seed-borne disease of loose smuts, net blotch and stripe. Hot water treatment of seed was not effective against net blotch and stripe in these seed-borne diseases.
