Mostrar más [+] Menos [-]This presentation details a study on bainitic transformation in steel, utilising dilatometry and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Dilatometry measures dimensional changes in the steel during heating and cooling cycles, revealing critical transformation temperatures and enabling the construction of CCT and TTT diagrams. Crucially, it tracks changes due to temperature, chemical composition, and phase transformations. XRD complements this by identifying phases, determining phase fractions, and revealing microstructural features like crystallite size and microstrain through analysis of peak broadening. The combined application of these techniques allows for a comprehensive characterisation of the bainitic transformation process, elucidating its kinetics and the resulting microstructure.
