Theoretical and practical justification of rootstock selection in vegetative reproduction of introduced species of the genus Syringa L. (Oleaceae) in the conditions of the Orenburg region | Теоретическое и практическое обоснование выбора подвоя при вегетативной репродукции интродуцентов рода Syringa L. (Oleaceae) в условиях Оренбургской области

The proper selection of rootstock and graft combinations in lilac introduced cultivars, to take full advantage of grafting, requires a thorough understanding of the synergy of cultivar-rootstock combinations, as well as identifying factors that may influence this process. The results of three grafting experiment variants using Syringa vulgaris L. and Syringa josikaea J. Jacq. ex Rchb. seedlings and vegetative rootstocks (rooted shoots) of Syringa vulgaris L. as rootstocks were analyzed. The grafting material was the dormant buds of four high ornamental cultivars of S. vulgaris L. – 'Aucubaefolia', 'Sensation', 'Marc Micheli', 'Congo' - and the late hybrid Syringa x prestoniae МсКelveу 'Miss Canada'. As found the survival ability of cultivars on a particular rootstock may depend on the systematic belonging of the mother plants of the cultivars. The best survival ability among all studied cultivars in the climatic conditions of the Orenburg region of Russia is achieved when using rooted vegetative shoots of S. vulgaris as a rootstock (over 90%), the worst one – on the seed rootstock of S. josikea J. Jacq. ex Rchb. (up to 40%). The influence of the ambient temperature and humidity at the time of oculant joining together on the survival ability of grafts using S. vulgaris L. vegetative rootstock has been demonstrated (Wilcoxon T-test, statistical significance level p much less 0.05). It is recommended to select the rootstock individually for each cultivar to achieve maximum survival rates of lilac cultivars in the climatic and geographical conditions of the Orenburg region and/or regions with similar conditions.

Надлежащий выбор комбинаций подвоя и привоя у интродуцентов сирени с целью полной реализации преимуществ прививки требует глубокого понимания синергии сортоподвойных комбинаций, а также установления факторов, которые могут оказывать влияние на данный процесс. Проанализированы результаты трех вариантов опытов прививки с использованием в качестве подвоя сеянцев Syringa vulgaris L. и Syringa josikaea J. Jacq. ex Rchb. и вегетативных подвоев (укорененная поросль) Syringa vulgaris L. Привойный материал – спящие почки четырех высокодекоративных культиваров S. vulgaris L. ('Aucubaefolia', 'Sensation', 'Marc Micheli', 'Congo') и позднего гибрида Syringa x prestoniae МсКelveу 'Miss Canada'. Установлено, что от систематической принадлежности материнских растений культиваров может зависеть приживаемость сортов на определенном подвое. Лучшая приживаемость среди всех изученных окулянтов в климатических условиях Оренбуржья достигается при использовании в качестве подвоя укорененных вегетативных побегов S. vulgaris (свыше 90%), худшая – на семенном подвое S. josikea J. Jacq. ex Rchb. (до 40%). Доказано влияние температуры и влажности окружающей среды в момент сращения окулянтов на приживаемость прививок с использованием вегетативного подвоя S. vulgaris L. (Т-критерий Уилкоксона, уровень статистической значимости р гораздо меньше 0,05). Для достижения максимальных показателей приживаемости сортов сирени в климатогеографических условиях Оренбуржья и/или регионов со сходными условиями рекомендовано осуществлять подбор подвоя для каждого культивара индивидуально.
